If you miss a tap this will detect it and prevent a tempo change. Mutiple taps will average out and give you a more accurate tempo reading. Single taps will reset the phase so the bar begins from the start again.

This'll work out the tempo and keep track of it internally. Select the number of beats Next, select the number of beats per measure. You can also manually set the tempo by pressing the Tap BPM button.
